adidas Originals | by Jeremy Scott - Mademoiselle Yulia (by adidasoriginals)

Colors! Print! Patterns! I’m a sucker for the adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott line! This is sportswear I can get behind, and I would die to have the Gorilla sneakers! Here I am trying to be more fashionable and sophisticated, but it’s pretty obvious I am young at heart. I’d at least try to mix and match so I don’t come out looking like an anime character (sorry, not my steeze).

Marni at H&M Directed by Sofia Coppola (Original Version) (by hennesandmauritz)

It’s a lovely video, I love the vintage colors and the story angle Sofia went with. It’s a sophisticated crowd but the Marni girl is spunky and youthful. What I am concerned about is whether or not I will actually buy from this line. I think I’m going to treat it like the Versace for H&M line, and stick w/the accessories. I am loving the chunky, colorful bracelets!

I have a confession to make, I have a nerdy past. It’s not uber nerdy, and OK, I still have the tendency to geek out over certain things, but this nerdy past has allowed me to connect w/industry geeks. What does this mean? It means I have been fully welcomed to Team Mixed Nuts, a collective of creatives whose current project is the upcoming comic, Strawberry Scented Burnout. I have been asked to help w/character design and fashion consulting, particularly w/styling the villains of the comic.
Now this comic is about a boy and girl who fall in love. The problem is she wants more power and control - and she wants to wipe out otaku geek culture (sounds like my first love… w/me being the villain of course). Perhaps it was only natural for me to be the one to create looks for the antagonists, no?
The first character I have taken on is Jun, a sadistic leader w/an extreme mean streak. Despite her leadership role, she is still somewhat of a “tippie” or “typical girl.” Having grown up as a geek who was picked on, and currently being in the nightlife scene as much as I am, I knew the exact direction I wanted to go for Jun.
Using Polyvore, I styled the girl who dressed to the nines when going out to high end clubs (or in the high school version, dressing as if she were going to the club). She’s the one who feels entitled to everything, including her daddy’s (or Sugar Daddy’s) wallet. The bouncer always lets her past the velvet rope, only because he fears losing his job. Her style isn’t so much about creative fashion aesthetic, it is more about what is trendy and what will get her the most attention from guys. Think tight little dresses, bright red heels, “it” sunglasses, and a few accessories that make her feel “bad.”
I was told that I totally nailed this character in the head, and so I am excited to get started on all the other villains. I’m going to be posting each of my Polyvore inspiration boards here, along w/descriptions of how I came to certain looks. I know I am not going to get each character right, but I am going to post each hit and miss onto this Tumblr. Hopefully I get things more right than wrong! And I hope you welcome these posts, because we all need a little more substance and content on Tumblr!

John Gold - A Flower In Your Head (Stereocool ‘Voices In My Head’ Remix) (by playthedevil)

This song is adorably cute. I’m home on a Friday night and I am trying so hard not to flood my various social media platforms w/my asinine thoughts! OK so they aren’t asinine, but they are quite random. So I will just continue to dance to cute songs like this! Currently exploring more works from Stereocool.

Note to Self: Wear more flowers in my hair.

Originally I had planned to do this entire post on my daily outfits of CES. I had an outfit for both the day (when I was roaming about the CES showroom floors) and night (networking events and club attire). Unfortunately I am not like most fashion bloggers who have a boyfriend photographer, who doesn’t mind taking photos of their every outfit w/their DSLR. What I do have are a small handful of mobile pics that my friends so graciously took for me. And so I now present you: My More Interesting Outfits of CES.

PS Notice a bunch of these are my thrift store finds?

PPS Despite the fact that I love how I styled myself during this week - I can’t help but look at the collection of photos and think “Look at that fucking hipster!” LOL at least I have a sense of humor about it!
